Filming the teaser short film for Living With Honor was lots of fun. First there was the rehearsal down in Plymouth, where Arinder Sadhra was on tour at the time with the National Theatre production of Warhorse. It was an early start and a very long day but watching Arinder and Joni working together was a joy and really worth the journey.
Next up came more rehearsal and then filming the interior scenes, which we shot in London, on Arinder’s week off, to keep travel to a minimum. It was a challenging day, with many takes completed in a dark, damp, very cramped cellar.
Capturing the exterior panoramic shots was a fun adventure. Although going all the way to Cumbria, for just two days, was a bit crazy. But, it was really important because the location is a character in itself and truly ‘makes’ the trailer. Fortunately, in between the shots we needed in the early morning, and those we wanted at dusk, we managed to get a few moments on the beach and recce the farm location where we hope, eventually, to film the feature. Such a beautiful place and to go there with lovely people was wonderful.
I feel so much gratitude towards everyone who put so much love and artistry into the teaser short. Thanks to you, the feature length version is coming soon.
